Claim It! A Community-wide Partnership

Claim It! is a partnership program designed to help
put more money into the pockets of working families
and individuals.

 

 

 

 

Free Tax Preparation Services

Claim It! promotes free on-site tax preparation for those who qualify.  Over 150 free tax preparation sites are registered to serve eligible taxpayers in the Twin Cities.

Eligibility

  • Individuals whose income is less than $30,000
  • Families whose income is less than $40,000
  • OR you are a senior citizen, have a disability or speak limited or no English.

Results

  • 30,272 people received free tax preparation in 2007, an increase of 2,300 people from 2006.
  • Total returns also increased: from $17.93 million in 2006 to $21.6 million in 2007.
