Executive Team

Lauren SegalLauren A. Segal, president and chief executive officer
Lauren directs staff and volunteer activities including resource development, marketing, governance, human resources, and strategic planning for the organization. She began her career with United Way of America in 1980 as a management trainee and held a variety of positions with United Ways in New Jersey, Michigan and Massachusetts. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Lauren is involved in several organizations and associations including the Knight Foundation, Minnesota Women’s Economic Roundtable and Minnesota Early Learning Foundation. She and her husband live in St. Paul. segall@unitedwaytwincities.org, (Assistant Barb Regnier): 612-340-7586

Chris AmundsenChris Amundsen, chief operating officer
Chris oversees operations including human resources, finance, strategic systems and organizational alignment. He served as vice president—corporate services and chief financial officer of St. Paul United Way from 1993-98. In 1998 he joined United Way of America (UWA) as executive vice president and chief administrative officer. In 2001, he was appointed interim president and CEO of UWA and coordinated the national system response to 9/11.

Frank ForsbergFrank Forsberg, senior vice president, Community Impact
Frank oversees impact planning and research, public policy and government relations, the annual program review and distribution of funds to partner agencies, and initiatives focused on strengthening the organizational capacity of human service agencies. He came to United Way in December, 1999, from Catholic Charities, where he was administrator of the Advocacy and Outreach Division.

Away from the office, Frank spends most of his time with his wife and three children. He also enjoys walking along river banks and local swamps looking for Ruby Crowned Kinglets and other small feathered friends. Andy Goldman-GreyAndy Goldman-Gray, vice president, Marketing
Andy oversees strategic marketing and is responsible for creating United Way branded efforts through advertising, media relations, communications, the Web and donor engagement programs. Since joining United Way in 1998, Andy has served in a number of positions and developed the first donor segmentation program and national engagement program. He is involved in a number of marketing efforts with United Way of America and Greater Twin Cities United Way is a recognized leader in this field.

Andy is especially interested in early childhood development—he’s the proud dad of a 3- and 5-year-old. He and his family live in St. Paul and when he’s not coaching t-ball or doing projects around his house, he likes to spend time with his six brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews. graya@unitedwaytwincities.org, 612-340-7583

Dawie HymanDawie Hyman, chief information officer
Dawie (pronounced "dah-vee") splits his time between Minnesota and California by leading both information technology departments at Greater Twin Cities United Way and at United Way of Greater Los Angeles.

Dawie has successfully implemented many software systems and technology collaborations, including the implementation of enterprise database systems.  Prior to joining United Way of Greater Los Angeles in 2000, Dawie has worked as a software developer, IT strategist, electronic engineer, control systems engineer and senior pastor. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Pretoria, South Africa and a Master of Divinity degree from the Master's College and Seminary in Sun Valley, California. hymand@unitedwaytwincities.org, 612-340-7554

Julie NevilleJulie Neville, vice president, Finance
Julie oversees the management of finance operations and staff. She works directly with the audit committee, finance committee, and investment committee—all comprised of key volunteer leaders. She joined United Way in 1997 and in 1999, successfully led the combining of two finance departments as Minneapolis and St. Paul United Ways merged administrative functions. In 2001, when Greater Twin Cities United Way was created, Julie directed financial operational activities related to the new combined organization.

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Julie is a certified public accountant. She's held accounting/finance positions with for-profit corporations including a major public accounting firm. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor activities including golf, hiking and downhill skiing. She's a Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers fan. nevillej@unitedwaytwincities.org, 612-340-7606

Carol StodieckCarol Stodieck, vice president, Human Resources
Carol has managed the human resources department at United Way since 1985, when she began as the human resources director of United Way of Minneapolis. Before that, she held a variety of positions within United Way including personnel assistant and various finance positions dating back to 1971.

Her responsibilities include the design, development and implementation of cost effective human resources policies, practices and employee benefit plans. She ensures compliance with employment laws and regulations and stays current with policies and practices of other local employers, enabling United Way to recruit and retain vital workforce. Missy ThompsonMissy Staples Thompson, vice president, Success By 6™
Missy oversees the Success By 6™ initiative and partnership. She has over 30 years of business and community leadership and currently serves on several boards of directors including the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and the Minnesota Historical Society.

Prior to joining United Way, Missy was director at Fannie Mae where she implemented a successful seven-year $25 billion investment plan for the state of Minnesota. She received her bachelor's degree in political science from Macalester College and was a Humphrey Fellow at the University of Minnesota. Randi YoderRandi S.N. Yoder, senior vice president, Donor Relations
Randi oversees Donor Relations and is responsible for all development including fundraising, including workplace, individual, corporate and foundation giving and special initiatives.

Before joining United Way, Randi was president of Yoder Henley Development Resources, providing professional counsel to nonprofit organizations. She also held a senior development position at the Carlson School of Management and the College of St. Catherine.
