Marketing Event Volunteers

Summary

This position works directly with the Events & Promotions team to promote and create awareness for United Way at community events around the metro area. Opportunities are e-mailed approximately two weeks prior to each event and include an event overview and specific job duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist with execution of United Way’s Building Blocks for Successful Kids and other events.
• Promote United Way programs and/or initiatives through face-to-face contact, interactive games and handing out materials.
• Help facilitate activities and engage public audience.

Requirements

• Must be 14 years or older, or accompanied by an adult: student, professional, parent, family, or senior
• Must provide own transportation to/from events, excellent verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, customer service and event experience a plus

Commitment

Numerous events throughout the year. Specific time commitments vary by event, usually 2-3 hours. Hours are flexible and may be set according to volunteer’s schedule within the allotted event time. The majority of events take place during evening and weekend hours.

Opportunities to assist on other marketing projects as needed such as event day logistics, administrative and organizational support may be available. (Please inquire specifically.)
